When the company consolidated its two production facilities on the Southwark site at Thebarton, and the demolished the West End Brewery on the southern side of Hindley Street, in 1982 and 1984, it sold the building. The Australian Institute of Management – South Australia bought it in 1984. It has since been used by The University of South Australia.
The building is an unusual rendering of the Georgian style, with strictly disciplined fenestration and crisply detailed dressings in what appears to be artificial stone. The design reflects the desire of architects during this period to interpret rather than copy stylistic details.
The interior of the brewery offices is notable for its originality and detailing, which includes panelling and metalwork.
