House at 413 Carrington Street, Adelaide

House at 413 Carrington Street, Adelaide

Built in 1860 at the peak of land prices in the city, this row of terrace houses were built to fulfil the demands of the rapidly growing population. The four terrace houses are unified by a similar deep verandah balcony and front fence treatment, while bluestone, brick and stucco were used for the load bearing walls.

Notes

Significance

[edit | edit source]

Whilst no record of an architect has been found for these residences , the way this row of houses mirror other dwellings on Carrington Street makes a positive contribution to the area.
