Harvey retained ownership of the terrace houses until 1886 when they were sold to Roland Strachan, where it remained in single ownership until 1971 when they were again sold and then refurbished.

Darcy Lever Terrace- 39 Hurtle Square, Adelaide
Built by prominent Adelaide builder Simon Harvey, these terrace houses exhibit deep ornamental verandahs and balconies and were built for tenantry by middle class families who needed to live in the city before transport was adequate to allow workers to live in the suburbs. Harvey built steadily in Adelaide and Unley Park, where Harvey Street is named after him; originally from Cornwall, he first worked in a South Australian timber yard in Flinders Street, before opening a mill in Port Adelaide. He died in 1927 having retired four years earlier with an interest in Lion Timber Mills and directing Globe Timber Mills.

Significance
The survival of such high quality residential terraces in Adelaide along with the connection to such an industrious member of the community is quite significant. The Victorian styling of the four two level terrace houses, with excellent detailing in timber, and cast iron, perfectly complements the bluestone with stucco trim and retains the inherent charm of Hurtle square.
